As first time visitors of Wimbledon Art Fair, we were blown away by the variety of original and transfixing work that was on display. It was a beautifully curated event, so we wanted to share our insights from our day spent there.
Wimbledon Art Fair happens only twice a year, where the studios are opened for the public to explore. We loved looking inside the studios of the established, award-winning as well as emerging artists. To indulge inside the artist’s spaces, giving us a closer connection to the origination of their art, was a privilege.
There was also something for everyone to appreciate, with the variety of work ranging from mixed media, sculptures, pottery, painting and more!
It was a completely different art fair to any we have been to before, promoting a relaxed and community feel from the moment you arrived. We visited on Opening Night, which also meant we got to soak up the atmosphere from the live music and complimentary wine on offer (as well as snacks offered by the artists in the studios!)
What struck us the most was the eagerness from the artists to chat to us about their work and their process. Art is about connection and expression and we really felt this when visiting the fair.
At Treacle Art we are passionate about affordable art and if you do too, we firmly suggest putting Wimbledon Art Fair on your radar (they’re back in November 2023!)
